Wild Farm Escapes

A peaceful Oxfordshire camping haven, with hammocks, country walks, local pubs, sunsets and an abundance of wildlife.

About: Situated a mere five miles from Oxford city centre, Wild Farm Escapes (formerly D'Oyleys Farm Camping) is a tranquil campsite, ideal for families and dog owners.

The campsite is set across 25 acres of river meadow and pasture and is nestled at the bottom of a long windy farm track. The 17 camping pitches are located within a nature reserve with an abundance of wildlife, ranging from dragonflies and kingfishers to deer and hares, pheasants and partridges. At night, listen out for the splashing of otters in the water and the rhythmic beating of owl wings as they hunt the fields.   Each eco-pitch is positioned along the riverfront and includes a fire-bowl, a private compost toilet, a wooden picnic table and ample space to accommodate even the largest of tents. Guests to the eco-pitches receive a welcome box, complete with wood for a small campfire, fire-lighters, matches and a washing up kit.

Each freedom pitch is positioned in a field set back from the river front giving you ample space away from others to set up your camping kit and you can enjoy the use of communal compost loos and the showers. All you need to do is switch off your phone, put up your tent, light the fire, crack open a beer, sit back and relax.

Should you decide to go for a swim, paddle-board, run, or cycle, there are four hot gas showers available for you all to enjoy afterwards. If you fancy bringing a group of your friends, you can relocate to The Holt, which hosts a covered deck area and gas bbq.

There are four lovely pubs within walking distance from the campsite and many footpaths in and around the area. The atmosphere here is one of relaxed family pleasures.

Worth Noting: There's a lovely little farm-shop on site which supplies mouth-watering produce direct from the farm, either to bbq or take home. There's no electricity on the campsite but if you need anything kept cool, there are fridges in the farm shop.
